The mechanic

Every buyer is a silver buyer

HUNTBROS is not quoted in ETH. It is quoted in SLV, the tokenised iShares Silver Trust on this chain. That one choice is the whole design.

01

You need silver first

The pool only accepts SLV. To buy HUNTBROS you go and buy SLV, then bring it. There is no route that skips the silver.

02

The float is thin

All the SLV on this chain sits on roughly $754K of routable liquidity. It does not take a fortune to move that book.

03

It never closes

Tokenised stocks here trade around the clock. No bell, no weekend. The silver bid does not go home on a Friday, and neither does this.

1980

It has been tried once before

Nelson and Herbert Hunt

What they held
Around 100 million ounces, close to a third of the world's deliverable silver
What it cost
Billions, and eventually the family fortune
Who could add supply
Miners and scrap, over months
How it ended
Silver Thursday, 27 March 1980. Silver fell from $21 to $10.80 in a session.

Robinhood chain, tonight

What is out there
$1.37M, the entire on-chain SLV float
What it costs
Whatever the book asks. It is thinner than one apartment.
Who could add supply
Authorised participants, on demand. Supply answers a real bid.
How it ends
Unwritten. Read the row above again.
The Hunt brothers

They changed the rules

By January 1980 the Hunts had silver at $49.45 and the shorts could not deliver. So the exchange rewrote the game mid-hand. Silver Rule 7 put the market into liquidation orders only and raised margin until the corner could not be financed.

On 27 March 1980 silver fell by half in a session. The brothers got a margin call for roughly $100 million, could not meet it, and nearly took their broker down with them.

They were right about the float. They were wrong about who wrote the rules.
